250: Leaders, Are You Warming Up Before Game Time?

The purpose of warming up before physical activity is to prepare mentally and physically for your chosen activity. Warming up increases your heart rate and therefore your blood flow. This enables more oxygen to reach your muscles and decreases the chance of injury.
It takes mental and emotional preparation to “get into the zone.” Dedicated time to mentally prepare in the hours before competition can increase confidence and reduce negative self-talk. It helps to have a mental warm-up routine and to practice getting into the right frame of mind even when it is not game day.
So ask yourself, how often do you prepare yourself to get into the zone before you step into the business role, and why it is crucial to have a daily warm-up routine. What are the risks of not mentally, and physically preparing yourself for your role as a leader?
