Career Journey
Ryan began in strategy at Nedbank in Johannesburg, then led digital and ecommerce for Marriott, Mirvac and Quest Apartment Hotels, where he ran a four-year transformation reporting to the CEO and board.
He moved through IBM iX into operating roles as ANZ Country GM at Zomato and APAC Regional GM at CloudKitchens, and founded the AI review platform revuefinda in 2019.
At Elevate Management Consulting he built the public sector AI practice and its AI4PSA adoption model. He founded AI Strategy Consulting (AISC) and is an Enterprise Fellow at the University of Melbourne.
Proven Track Record
- Built the AI4PSA model and delivered AI pilots across FOI, grants, ministerial briefs and procurement drafting, with ISO/IEC 42001-aligned assurance.
- Founded revuefinda, raised two funding rounds, and grew daily active users 12% MoM.
- Ran 9 country P&Ls and 80+ staff across APAC at CloudKitchens, launched Japan, and delivered record growth months in Australia, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.
- Led 90+ staff with full P&L control at Zomato ANZ, and launched a video review product that lifted margin contribution 4x.

Beyond the Office
Ryan is co-authoring The AI-Enabled Leader: Judgment for the AI Era with John Mattone. The book's thesis: AI doesn't create leadership failure. It accelerates what was already there.
Two things used to cover for a leader's weaker judgment. Time, because a poor decision surfaced slowly enough to be caught before the damage compounded.
Friction, because challenging a colleague's view was socially normal, while challenging fluent, confident AI output takes more effort, so it mostly doesn't happen. AI has removed both.
That is why the Inner Core and Outer Core now carry more weight than they did before.
