If someone were to ask you, “Are you still swimming near the shore?” your initial response would likely be, “Absolutely!” Venturing into deep water away from the shore can pose risks and, for some individuals, provoke a sense of genuine fear. However, in leadership, there will be times when we are faced with issues that will require us to venture into deeper water.  If you are prepared with the right mindset, skills, talents, and support, you'll be able to face those challenges and fears head-on.

A famous quote from William Faulkner states, “You cannot swim for new horizons until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
