Helping Global Organizations Turn AI Investment Into Measurable Business Value

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 7, 2026: John Mattone Global (JMG), a global leader in executive coaching, leadership development and organizational transformation, today announced the formal expansion of its AI Transformation Practice, bringing together a comprehensive suite of solutions designed to help global organizations move beyond AI adoption toward measurable business impact.

The expansion represents the culmination of more than a year of JMG's applied work, learning and innovation around artificial intelligence, both within its own business and through its ongoing work with senior leaders and organizations navigating unprecedented technological and organizational change.

During that time, one conclusion has become increasingly clear:

The greatest challenge facing organizations is no longer simply adopting AI. It is creating the leadership, strategy, culture, people, execution and governance required to turn AI investment into sustained enterprise value.

“Over the past year, we have learned an enormous amount about AI: how rapidly organizations are adopting it, where the tremendous opportunities exist and, most importantly, why adoption alone does not guarantee meaningful business returns,” said John Mattone, Founder & Chairman of John Mattone Global.

“AI technology is advancing at extraordinary speed. But technology by itself does not transform an organization. Leaders do. People do. Culture does. Strategy and disciplined execution do. We believe the organizations that ultimately realize the greatest returns from AI will be those that become as serious about transforming their leadership and organizations as they are about transforming their technology.”

From AI Adoption to AI Optimization and Transformation

Organizations around the world are investing heavily in AI platforms, use cases, training, implementation and infrastructure. Yet adopting AI and realizing its full enterprise value are two very different things.

JMG's AI Transformation Practice has been built around closing that gap.

Rather than competing with technology consultants, systems integrators, data firms, cybersecurity specialists or AI implementation providers, JMG focuses on what it has spent decades studying and transforming: leaders, organizations and cultures.

JMG works alongside an organization's technology, strategy, data, cybersecurity, regulatory and implementation partners to address the leadership and organizational conditions required for AI to generate sustainable business results.

The practice examines six interconnected dimensions of AI Transformation Fitness:

Leadership. Strategy. Culture. People. Execution. Governance.

Together, these dimensions help determine whether an organization can move beyond AI experimentation, pilots and isolated productivity gains toward scalable, sustainable enterprise value.

An Integrated AI Transformation System

JMG's AI Transformation Practice brings together three primary enterprise solutions built upon the firm's Intelligent Leadership® methodology.

Intelligent Leadership® AI Fitness Assessment

The Intelligent Leadership® AI Fitness Assessment establishes an objective baseline of an organization's ability to translate AI investment into business results.

The assessment combines executive discovery, leadership interviews, organizational analysis and JMG's proprietary AI Fitness Index™ to identify strengths, vulnerabilities, misalignment and transformation priorities across leadership, strategy, culture, people, execution and governance.

The assessment can extend from the board and C-suite through managers and employees, providing senior leaders with a fact-based view of where the organization is positioned to succeed, and where hidden barriers could prevent AI investments from achieving their potential.

C-Level AI Transformation Retreat

The C-Level AI Transformation Retreat brings the CEO and executive team together around the decisions that technology alone cannot make.

Using diagnostic findings as the foundation, JMG works with senior leaders to establish alignment around AI ambition, leadership requirements, cultural change, talent implications, governance, decision rights and accountability.

The objective is not another AI presentation.

The outcome is an actionable AI Leadership & Culture Transformation Blueprint, including executive commitments and a 90- to 180-day action roadmap.

Intelligent Leadership® AI Transformation Accelerator

AI Transformation Is Human Transformation

At the center of JMG's approach is a fundamental belief:

AI transformation is ultimately human transformation.

For decades, Intelligent Leadership® has focused on what Mattone describes as the Inner Core and Outer Core of leadership.

The Inner Core encompasses character, values, self-concept, emotional maturity, courage and thinking patterns.

The Outer Core encompasses the capabilities leaders need to strategize, execute, communicate, influence, develop talent, build teams, lead change, create accountability and deliver results.

AI does not make these leadership capabilities less important.

JMG believes it makes them more important.

As AI increasingly influences analysis, recommendations and organizational decision-making, leaders must demonstrate stronger independent judgment, critical thinking, strategic thinking, courage and accountability, and understand when human context and judgment must complement or override machine-generated recommendations.

“AI will transform organizations,” Mattone said. “But the question we keep coming back to is: Who will transform the leaders? That is where we believe JMG can make an extraordinary contribution.”

Ryan Flanagan Leads JMG's Global AI & Enterprise Transformation Practice

Ryan Flanagan
Ryan FlanaganGlobal Managing Partner, AI & Enterprise Transformation

JMG's AI Transformation Practice is led globally by Ryan Flanagan, Global Managing Partner, AI & Enterprise Transformation.

Flanagan brings 25 years of operating, transformation and AI experience across banking, hospitality, property, technology and government, combined with his work as a Master Certified Intelligent Leadership Executive Coach.

As Global Managing Partner, Flanagan leads JMG's AI & Enterprise Transformation Practice worldwide, including practice methodology, major client pursuits, delivery quality and the Intelligent Leadership® AI Transformation Accelerator.

“Organizations do not need another conversation about whether AI matters,” said Flanagan. “They need to know where AI can create meaningful enterprise value, whether their leaders and organization are capable of capturing it, what is getting in the way and what they must do differently. Our work begins where technology implementation alone cannot solve the problem.”

Mattone and Flanagan to Co-Author The AI-Enabled Leader: Judgment for the AI Era

The continued expansion of JMG's AI Transformation Practice will also be supported by a major new thought-leadership initiative.

Mattone and Flanagan are co-authoring The AI-Enabled Leader: Judgment for the AI Era, scheduled for release in the summer of 2027.

The book will examine one of the defining leadership challenges emerging from the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence:

As AI becomes increasingly capable of analyzing information, generating recommendations and influencing decisions, what uniquely human capabilities must leaders strengthen rather than surrender?

At the center of the book is judgment: the ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, interpret context, make decisions under uncertainty, exercise courage, accept accountability and determine when human wisdom must complement or override machine-generated recommendations.

“The great paradox of the AI era is that the more powerful AI becomes, the more important exceptional human leadership becomes,” Mattone said.

“AI can inform a decision. It can challenge our thinking. It can dramatically increase our capacity. But leaders must still exercise judgment, accept accountability and ultimately decide. Ryan and I believe that distinction will become one of the defining leadership issues of the next decade.”

Flanagan added:

“The goal should not be to create AI-dependent leaders. It should be to create AI-enabled leaders: leaders who know how to leverage extraordinary technology without surrendering the critical thinking, judgment, courage and accountability that leadership demands.”

The AI-Enabled Leader: Judgment for the AI Era will draw upon Mattone and Flanagan's work with leaders and organizations, JMG's Intelligent Leadership® methodology, and the firm's evolving work helping organizations navigate the leadership and organizational dimensions of AI transformation.

The book is scheduled for release in the summer of 2027.

“Prescription Before Diagnosis Is Malpractice”

JMG's approach to AI Transformation also extends a principle Mattone has used throughout his career:

“Prescription before diagnosis is malpractice.”

Organizations routinely commit significant capital, time and human energy to transformation without first objectively determining whether their leaders, culture, people and organizational systems are equipped to execute it.

JMG believes AI transformation should be no different.

The firm's approach therefore begins with diagnosis: understanding where an organization is strong, where it is exposed, where leadership alignment is missing, where cultural or organizational barriers may emerge, and what must change for AI investments to produce their intended business returns.

From that diagnosis, JMG works with organizations through executive alignment, transformation planning, leadership coaching, organizational activation and sustained accountability.

Built for Global Organizations

John Mattone Global has worked with leaders across more than 55 countries and with global enterprises, governments, financial institutions and high-growth organizations.

Its expanded AI Transformation Practice is designed for CEOs, C-suite executives, boards, CHROs and transformation leaders responsible for enterprise-wide AI transformation.

JMG's objective is straightforward:

Help organizations move from asking, “What AI are we implementing?” to asking, “How do we build the leadership, culture, people, strategy, governance and execution capability required to realize the full value of AI?”

“AI represents one of the greatest opportunities for business transformation we have seen in our lifetimes,” Mattone said.

“But adoption is not the finish line. Optimization and business value are. We have built this practice to help leaders and organizations close that gap, and ultimately realize the extraordinary business returns that AI makes possible.”
